The Columbus, Georgia Region has a strong history of creating public/private partnerships in order to fund a wide variety of cultural offerings in our community.
Recent examples include:
- $169 million raised in a one-cent sales tax which, in part, helped support a 10,000 seat Civic Center and helped our community become an Olympic Host City
- $100 million raised in the “Columbus Challenge” to build the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts, renovate The Springer Opera House, and expand the historic Liberty Theatre Cultural Center.
